Some people say that the author was tweeting out stuff and writing Author's Notes about how the series had totally gotten away from him becausefans were too into the romance and he didn't really want it to be a big focusand that he was tired of it so he killed it off really quickly. He also said in the last AN thatthe ending, in particular, had been planned from the very beginning. He wanted it to go circle back to the mystery nabe and them all in the club room having fun.
Still a firm believer in the idea that Tsugumi is the promise girl and that Raku is going to have to choose between her, onodera and chitoge. That's pretty much the best way to go about it.
