Why are there so many of these faggots on /a/. I'm not even saying Harry or Griffith or whomever didn't have good qualities and should be hated or something, I can recognize their admirable dedication, intelligence, and the massive amount of shit they went though. The problem is that the best part of the show consists of the mafia aspects, which are genuinely quality, and are probably the only good example of a mafia story told in this medium. However, the science-fiction battle scenes are pretty much garbage, which is rather unfortunate. I don't think I've seen another anime with such a difference in quality between two arcs.
Play the PS2 games anon. Gungrave 1 is an interesting work, especially as it came before the anime. You can really see where Nightow was going with the story and visuals. The sequel Gungrave Overdose, has nothing to do with the anime, but is a great game and far superior to the original game. It's one of those games that can pull you into a zen like trance.
As a big Gungrave fan, I would say to watch the first episode, if you plan on playing the games first or as you watch the series.
