>>
>>137139193
No matter how much I agree that math is incredibly useful depending on how much you can apply it, it still leaves the impression that a ton of that shit seems autistic. It's practically like grinding filler levels in RPGs where your level isn't high enough to make that grind useful but if you just keep going at it you'll reap some payoff down the road. But if you quit halfway it's almost like just a bragging right.
>>
>>137139514
I didn't think I'd ever read a manga about math, but that was surprisingly good. Still a little confused, but I think I learned something.

Thanks for dumping.
>>
Bidiurnal tomorrow?
>>
Thanks for the dump. That was pretty unique; I'd certainly keep reading, even though I'm more into using maths to describe the world through physics rather than maths for maths' sake

My only complaint is that the solution to the last problem was based on remainders. Fuck that nonsense, I really don't see the point in them once you learn how to divide and understand decimals. Is there actually a use for them in some field that I'm not aware of?
>>
>>137139916
There needs to be some kinda pastebin guide on what math is applicable to fields and which aren't.
>>
>>137138924
>women
>math
Suspension of disbelief destroyed.
>>
Cute, though the math itself is pretty simple but I guess it wouldn't work with higher math, only a tiny audience would be interested. The sister is hot.
>>
>>137140074
You can do higher math so long as you keep the problems connected with real life application, specifically stuff that would interest the readers. The moment it's pure theoretical is when the majority would stop giving a shit.
>>
>>137139430
IT'S FINE IF IT'S YOU ONIICHAN.
>>
>>137140129
Maybe, at some point it becomes difficult to explain it in a simple manner without a lot of physics. Going just a bit higher, I think it would be easy to introduce vector fields, what they are and what you can describe with them but the mathematical aspect becomes too complex later, you need theoretical knowledge to properly explain why it works and I'm not sure if it can be done in a way that keeps people interested.
>>
>>137140323
Oh and I just saw they aren't actually siblings. Incest route when?
>>
>>137138924
Appreciate the dump OP.
>>
>>137140074
Yeah, math in general is pretty simple. But try operations research or numerical analysis, and you might as well kill yourself.
>>
>>137140323
Well yes you would need physics, and as more fields get expanded other things like chemistry or even biology would come into play.

Personally I think the easiest field to jump to will still keeping it uh, mathy is business. Stuff like accounting, real basic and shit but everyone with common sense knows or wants to know and values it. There isn't really a lot of outside variables in business math even if you factor in marketing, sales, etc etc even if it's probably rather hard once you reach problems that guys in multi billion dollar corporations have to deal with.
>>
>>137140466
That gets stale, at some point the only thing that happens is a more and more complex formula with many variables, people would lose the overview really quickly. I think you can introduce many mathematical "problems" but you can't really go in depths because as soon as it comes to mathematical proves you'll instantly lose everybody. Let epsilon be greater than zero etc. etc.
>>
>>137140645
You will, but you can inspire the feeling that what the reader doesn't get or know might be worth learning to solve instead of "Oh it's just higher level math the fuck do I need that for?". You would do it sparingly kinda like a bonus stage.

In addition, having that 'end goal' set and explained to them as much as possible even if they don't follow it to the end makes them appreciate the stuff they know or are learning right now more. Kinda like when a casual would watch streams of boss fights he can't even think of doing with his character but doing so gets him hyped up to play some more. Same shit.

Ass Class pretty much uses that formula for general schoolwork and etiquette, though it overly relies on being silly and over the top, it's still basically trying to foster young kids to be more shady calculating faggots under the guise of the weak overcoming the strong and underdogs are always adored.
>>
>>137139916
>reminders
It's a part of modular arithmetics which has many different applications.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modular_arithmetic#Applications

Integer arithmetics with a computer is based on modular arithmetics (also in the ancient calculators that used gears and in mechanical clocks).

Checksums such as IBAN, ISBN, error correction codes in your CDs, DVDs, BDs, data sent through the internet (Base64 encoding for example)...

Sorting data (bin sort, radix sort)

Encryption (from Caesars cypher to RSA and AES).
>>
>>137140826
And more to the point, unlike math the stuff Ass Class ends on a high note is either unfathomable unverifiable shit that has no real world basis and is practically just power levels, whereas with the situation here, it's just a matter of not understanding. You can still appreciate how wise a guy like Bill Gates was to build up Microsoft even if you know jack shit about computers or business right? Same deal here. The authenticity lends influence to the reader.

I like math, but I'd have preferred an anime about cute girls doing physics.
Ginzburg-Landau theory episode would be the best one.

Mathematics is just a field of philosophy.

Anime about greek philosophers when?

>>137141285
Actually logic is a field of mathematics.

Anime about WW2 mathematicians when?
>>
>>137141331
But philosophy is the set which contains all other sets(fields).
Anime about black hat lolis when?
>>
>>137141411
Based on what? The consept of sets is mathematics and the study of them apply logic that is also mathematics.

Anime about Christmas cakes as human computers before the era or electrical computers?

Math without logic isn't possible but can there be logic without math?
>>
>>137141631
Logic is mathematics.

Logic is just math but using words instead number.

Huh, the more you know. I never even considered some of those. Thanks for mentioning them.
>>
The average 12 year old knows more math than I do. I forgot basically all of it, and I hardly knew anything to begin with, since I haven't used it for about 10 years.
