I'd say most people on /a/ use MAL. That should tell you something about their userbase.
Now, I know very little about the MAL userbase because I don't participate in their forums or anything, and most on /a/ probably don't go that far into the website. But it's still an excellent anime tracking website, and if you enjoyed an anime, there's nothing wrong with checking out what others who liked it watch.
