What did /a/ enjoy/like/hate about Samurai Champloo?

I personally enjoyed Fuu upon the cross. And the whole "Dank" effects which followed.

I can agree with this to a certain extent. But I'm thinking that's simply how Watanabe wanted it to be. Just like with Bebop; yeah, You might say that there is a bit more progression with the characters, at least in comparison to Champloo, but it still wasn't enough that You felt like you got to know them.

Didn't really care for the ending but overall it was a really great show. If I had to complain more I guess it just didn't have much personal impact on me like some of Watanabe's other shows, outside of introducing me to Nujabes.

I thought it meandered around and was a little boring, but watching it now when I'm older made me realize that was the best part. I also love how Mugen and Jin were recklessly pursuing their own end which led them to be the greatest swordsman. Very Fujumotoesque philosophy I didn't pick up on before.

I really enjoyed how her father introduced Christianity to that side of Japan and how the shogun was hunting him down to slaughter him. I had some really mixed feelings seeing him there basically dying and just waiting for that other samurai to finish him off. Mostly really sad.

It's a really comfy anime. You don't really get attachements to the characters so when you finish the show you're not sad, you feel satisfied.
