They share a bunch of kisses in important ocassions and acknowledge their love in the anime and movies(except the fifth one, but I will explain that one).
They kiss a lot in the manga, but it's other reasons and here is more of a cock teasing, and they don't acknowledge anything until the end, and the fifth movie is just an adaptation of the ending from the manga.
And is actually a comedy show, even when is sell like an anime about this guy and his alien girlfriend. That's one of the characteristics, but the whole show is just about this late teenager/young adult trying to survive in his daily life full of bad stuff along with having bad luck
