I used to stream from sites like Frostanime or Crunchyroll, then i realized torrents can be automatically downloaded from RSS, so i've got the full quality episode by the time i wake up, and likely before streaming sites re-upload the horriblesubs version by a few hours
and also that the color quality is noticably better. It's ridiculous, but streaming sites have muted colors and blurry lines due to the way compression works.
I'll still stream for shorts and stuff that i don't wanna bother downloading (e.g. i watched JK Meshi), but that's it.

Because all it takes is one network stutter between your connection and the stream to make that 1080p stream objectively worse.
It doesn't matter if your connection is god-tier if you're one of ten thousand people edging in on a connection built to handle five thousand, your experience is still going to be dogshit.
Even if you have a god-tier connection, just fucking torrent it anyway. Download the first one, then start the next four or five episodes while watching the first. If your connection is even halfway decent, by the time the first episode is done you've got a bunch more lined up and can now just grab the rest of the series.
If you're watching seasonal, just grab the first episode which strikes your fancy and then start the rest of the torrents while you watch whatever.
Torrenting means you only have to worry about the connection once, for three or four minutes.
Streaming means worrying about the connection every time you watch.
That's like asking why a burger at a restaurant is considered better than McDonalds. Yeah, they're both burgers, but there's a very, very immediate difference in quality.
