How is it that Working managed to be a great series from start to finish?
I feel like it's fairly rare for a series to maintain its quality like it did through three seasons.
It didn't do anything crazy. It is a simple and well done adaptation

>season 1
>great
Inami was at her worst and pretty much unbearable whenever she was onscreen.
I loved season 2 and 3 though.
>>136279873
But that's a good thing. It actually shows progression. You expect her to be the worst.
>>136279902
Yeah it does, but that doesn't make it any more enjoyable watching her be a shit.
>>136279979
Ah, I guess that's where we differ. She would be a really big shit if it stopped at S1.
Inami was never shit
>>136280980
I wish she was that cute.
Yamada and Kyouko are what made Working!! great from start to finish. I wish Yamada came through sooner.
>>136279672
>dat horny Inami
>>136279354
Everything it tried to do, it did well. It was a dry comedy show with character development. And that's all it tried to be.
Sometimes a show is better for doing less. Most shows (not just anime) try to be the extreme of either too much shit or not enough content. This show just hit the middle ground. A good example is mai waifu, who really was just a mascot character and not vital to the show at all. But they didn't try to shove in a love plot or force her into scenes. So it worked.
All that said, its hardly the best show ever. Its in my top 20 for sure, but season 1 had some bumps and the Yamada focused episodes in Season 3 were downright stupid.
>>136279873
Precisely why I never finished watching this, Season 1 killed any further interest in it.
>>136282579
>>136279496
This. So many times these days Japanese authors are trying to pull some shit to 'be unique' or 'surprise the reader/watcher'. This usually ends up turning out to be something completely fucking retarded and ruining everything.
Working made it clear what it was at the beginning, and it kept true to that while keeping things interesting with developing relationships and small side plotlines.
It's the old Turtle and Hare story.
>>136282638
Too bad because season 2 is the biggest improvement I've ever seen in an anime series. Fixed literally everything wrong in season 1, while improving what it did right.

>>136282739
Season 2 was probably the best in terms of single shot comedy episodes, but it aggravated me much more than 1 and 3 because it was a black hole of character progression.
Can I get some webms from the finale please? I managed to miss it when it aired.
>>136283100
Season 2 added a lot more to the characters who we hardly saw in season 1. Basically everyone besides Inami.
>>136279354
Seasons one and two were pretty good. Season three was a non-stop train of literally everything the fans wanted, actual resolution, and they even brought SOME WAN back for the finale. I can't remember the last time a series ended that well. Hell, most series don't even have anything resembling a decisive finale that wraps up plot points, especially romantic ones.
>>136283366
Its sad. But this show had the best moments of my life in the last 6 years.
Who wins Polar-bowl, is it Yamada's older brother?
>>136283617
No one. Poplar is too good for any of the show's males.
Did anyone else notice that Souma said the only way Yamada could make him happy was to become an adult?
>>136283617
Wagnaria wins the Popura bowl.Popura spin off never.
>>136283881
I'm still kind of bummed out the last episode didn't have a cool high fantasy/mahou shoujo fight like in the preview.
>>136279354
Because of Yamada.
>>136284018
I was glad it didn't, honestly.
That would have made it unwatchable for me.
>>136279354
Love is the answer, OP
It's always the answer
eh I thought it wasboring
It has simple premise without trying too hard to be unique. Kinda like FMA in that regards.
Introducing Yamada was the worst thing to happen, who wanted an autistic girl? Should had been a beautiful Christmas cake that fools around Souma but actually works under Katanashi's mom.
>>136284675
>Introducing Yamada was the worst thing to happen, who wanted an autistic girl
About 1/3 the fanbase. Genki girls who demand attention are one of the most used personalities in anime.
I don't like it either. But you can't fault the writer for using a common archetype. Especially since every character in the show fits such an archetype.
Nazuna was Yamada without the annoying attention whore aspect.
>>136284474
It's late so I can't be bothered to argue about your shit taste.
I'm glad you got your non-fantasy finale and enjoyed it.
>>136284898
>shit taste.
"Having these family restaurant workers in a medieval fantasy setting would be great!"
One of us has shit taste, but it isn't me. Go to bed, you loser.
>>136284976
>No imagination
>3DPD reaction image
Yeah like I said, shit taste.
>>136285011
What's your big idea, having Gundams on the next season of Silver Spoon?
Autism doesn't give you good taste, you know?

>implying Working was consistent at allIt actually improved with each season.
Because it was just a normal show that never tried to be crazy
>>136285206
Best girl.
>>136285206
Not normal enough.
>>136285206
I want to be normal with her.
>>136279354
>it's an Inami episode
This show needed more of Sato going to town on Yachiyo's pussy
>>136285246
I wish we had more Maya, but I guess the paucity of her character is what made her great.
>mfw she's the most relatable character and I've been in her situation when I used to do catering during college
>mfw everyone around me was a shit, and I just wanted to get work done.
>>136285364
L-l-l-lewd!
>>136285381
>Normal character who just wants to work.
>Gets least screen time.
Makes sense when you think about it.

Oh wait. That's every episode of The Office.

>>136279354
>Great from start to finish
Season 1 started great and then the quality dropped as it went on and was by far the weakest season. Season 2 was all around great, and season three started weak and then got better as it went on with the special finale being a great conclusion to the series.
It was a great series all around, but it wasn't without its ups and downs.
Izumi x Kirio OTP
I just recently watched the final OVA and was disappointed to see that there was no fairy Poplar.
>>136279354
Because the source material is good and the studio did good work at adapting it.
Nowadays lots of source material is simply horrible, so when there's something good for a change it stands out.
Working is over for ever...
>>136287457
90% of everything is bad. Every period of time has that 10% of good stuff. Working is just part of that 10%. Source material didn't just magically start getting bad recently.
>>136287559
>Source material didn't just magically start getting bad recently.
No, but LNs weren't such a big thing in the past, and the hikkikomori manchildren weren't such a dominant target audience.
Poplar > Kyoko > Inami > Yamada > Yachiyo
>>136279354
Just got around to watching the hour long finale a few days ago. Was surprised it how good it wrapped everything up. Definitely GOAT ending material.
>>136288037
>Inami
>higher than yamada
kill yourself you fucking faggot
>>136288037
poplar = yachiyo - inami > kyoko > shit > yamada

I wish to move on already, but I can't. Not right now.

I remember when this was first announced. Everyone speculated it'd be some cheap propaganda to make NEETs get jobs. Seems like forever ago right now;_;

>still hating Inami
I liked her from the start. Don't know why you have hated her unless you where some beta that felt threatened by a physical strong women or girl
>all this closure in S3
Yachiyo and Inami made the show unwatchable for me.
>>136288037
Poplar = Kyoko = Yamada = Yachiyo > Inami
