I didn't like this episode as much as the first one, and the CG definitely isn't helping. The mecha fights also looked pretty terrible, looked clunky and used too many stills. At least the human fights were pretty much the only thing that actually looked decent in episode 1.

Episode 1 was a tasty world-building episode that focus more on "show, don't tell" and told only the necessary to understand the situation.
Here, we're thrown into a fight without the stakes being clear, the characters make heel turns in their behavior and the MC goes full nekketsu.
I wish they would have focused more on the characters but this is just going to be an experimental action anime to try out their CGI animation. Too bad, I was expecting much more.
Guess I'll keep it as a popcorn action for the next 22 episodes.

The power rangers thing is sort of stupid. But, I am still enjoying this show because of the direction and the writing. I like how it's not strictly an "us vs them" thing, how there's a variety of motives even among the main cast and how they clash with each other. That has the potential to make things very interesting.

The writing is also just really well done in general, they do a good job of telling the story without having exposition dumps. Things like the argument between neon sneakers and neon leggings where she was telling him not to abuse his bubuki and he was saying it's just a tool without feelings. That's kind of cool. It keeps me engaged because I want to know the answers to all the questions it's raising: Is okasan still alive and what's she up to? Is sky loli still alive? Is it possible she's really the one holding back the Burankis? And such. They deserve credit for having genuinely interesting plot points that make you want to know more.

A negative is the fights which as someone has already pointed out never seem to actually put the characters in danger or cause physical harm to anyone. We need someone to die or get injured if we're going to care about them at all. Fedora shitter is a good candidate for death because literally nobody would miss him if he died right now, and it'd be fun to watch sweater loli punch his shit in.

That aside, the series is a positive surprise so far, though I still think the character CGI looks pretty wonky at times. It's better than most other attempts I've seem, though I'm not particularly fond of the exaggerated character movement at times. Those instances reminds me of shitty sentai squad series, where actors would overact like retards for emphasis, when wearing the suits. At other times, especially action scenes, it looks pretty good. The story is intriguing, so far.

I really liked the first episode, but this one less so, I think it was mainly the really clunky mecha parts. I don't mind the mecha themselves, it's just the CG for it seemed as awkward as the characters are most of the time, and also the overuse of stills during the fight didn't help either.

I like this show. The characters, even the edgy motherfucker are enjoyable. The CGI looks good, even 2D sometimes. The group of villians look interesting too and the plot even more. Only con for me is that its a mecha but oh well. It kind of reminds me of the shows i used to watch in my childhood.

The sound design was pretty bad this episode. Particularly when Oubu started walking around.
