There's a lot of series where the worldbuilding would be limited in the anime medium, whereas you would learn about the world in the games by interacting with the environment or NPCs. A direct adaptation would be a weaker retelling of the same story no matter how it's done since it's difficult to immerse yourself into the world of a series like LoZ without interacting with the characters. Sure, maybe they could make episodes dedicated to the sidequests and minor characters but who knows if it would work well in an episodic fashion depending on the length of the TV anime. Series with more basic stories or straightforward progression might work better in the transition to anime, like Mario or Fire Emblem. There's also things to consider like how to tell the story with characters like Link, who don't speak directly. A lot of details in a Metroid anime (depending on which game is covered) would be glossed over as well, considering the extensive usage of the scanner in the Prime games that expand on the conflict going on.Initial D style Mario Kart anime when
