I have recently rewatched Madoka and watched Rebellion for the first time. I've been avoiding Madoka threads before then, but I had noticed a theme about Homura doing something wrong.
What/how did she do wrong? It looks to me like she got her good end (even if it was a bit dramatic).
>>136166782
Congrats. You got the ending. Now wait for the sequel and avoid the autism.

>>136166782
I don't think Homu really did anything wrong. In the last scene before the credits start every character looks happy. Homu may have been rough in her methods but it seems like it worked. We don't know the long term consequences though.
But, more importantly, you used a picture of Nagisa. You know what that means, right? This is now a Nagisa thread.
Oh, and something I didn't quite get. Oktavia and Sayaka are independent, but Charlotte and Nagisa are not?
>>136169664
She is best girl in the making.
>>136169725
They're not really independent. She's using Octavia like a stand. Nagisa just uses Charlotte differently. I don't think they really define the exact rules.
>>136169758
She is definitely the cutest.
I guess I could post some Nagisa, too
>>136170246
I like seeing her having fun with Mami. It is good that they have each other as friends.
>>136166782
>It looks to me like she got her good end
Well, that is undeniably true given that it is pretty much what Urobuchi has to say on the state of things as of Rebellion's ending. Now if you want to know about any wrongdoing on Homura's part you would have to look into the path she followed until she got there and mull over every single individual action she ever took part in.
>>136170639
Like I said, I rewatched first. She was certainly unlucky and underwent some psyche-tearing trial and error to get their. I might say that revealing the existence of witches in a prior universe to the incubators was wrong, but it was also a part of her plan to get Madoka back? And the incubators are kind of her bitch, now.
Implications: the image
>>136170994
I believe that was a mistake on her end, not intentional. Kyubey seemed to take on a new leaf, and if Homura was trying to "move on" from the series, trusting Kyubey wouldn't have been a bad gesture. She was also Mami-tier lonely.
Had the flower garden conversation not happen, I think she would have laid down and died. It was when the one thing she clung to was "proven" wrong, she wasn't able to turn back.
I viewed "I finally caught you" as more likely her mental deterioration at that point, not so much she had some grand scheme. I think that would be too much for me as a viewer to believe especially because we're given no indication she is in control. It also makes her lean too far villain, rather than ambiguous state intended.
>>136171795
Edit: in control when being taken hostage by the inucabtors.
>>136170573
But Mami having friends is deathflag.
>>136171795
But the bit at the end of Eternal had her all grinning and keikaku, and it looked like she was forming her labyrinth.
>>136171929
Nagisa is not Mami's friend, she is Mami's cheese-powered sextoy.
>>136171929

>>136171975
I think Nagisa is too young for such things.
>>136171567

>>136172371
Mami doesn't seem to think so
>>136171940
That is true and I think Wraith arc is trying to flesh that out a bit. She apparently learned how to do the soul grabbing from a wraith.
>>136172383
Homucifer already rocked Madokami's world so hard she accidentally the universe. I believe they have transcended beyond mere kisses.
>>136172567

>>136172882

>>136172646

>>136173348

Eh? You mustn't anon. You need to keep her pure.
>Sayaka goes witch after just a handful of battles
>Homu uses enough magic to timestop herself a small nation's worth of military hardware and is completely fine
>>136173734
Sayaka's soul gem's corruption was greatly accelerated by her hatred of Hitomi and her despair over not being able to fug violinboy. She wouldn't have gone witch so fast if she wasn't depressed as fuck on addition of using her magic. Also, if he wasn't depressed she would have fought strategically instead of burning her regeneration magic by letting herself be hit by witches.
>>136173861
I don't think violinfag/hitomi is what was really tore her up. She could have done something, Hitomi even gave her a full day.Especially with all that red/blue service in the oktavia fight and again in rebellion.
>>136173983
>>Hitomi even gave her a full day
Which she spent angsting and thinking about she couldn't ever be with violinboy because she was a lich. I don't think that Blue really realized how much she wanted to mix with Red until after she died, which implies that red/Blue wasn't a thing in the last pre-madokami timeline and not a factor in her fall to witchdom.
>>136174309
I'm not usually one for crack pairings and shipping, but come on, Rebellion was VERY blatant about it, the Yuri subtext is definitely intentional.

Speaking of Wraith Arc, I haven't read it yet (planning to do so in one go once it's available in its entirety) and only know of bits and pieces from spoilers such as wraiths sucking up emotions from magical girls and shit, and Homura having been striked down by them. What I want to know is, how likely is my prediction that Homura losing emotions/memories/whatever it was to the wraiths and then regaining it from them later (it's gotta happen if it's going to stick to the main canon because she also lost the ribbons to them) is what causes her to doubt her memories of Madoka sometime before Rebellion?

Sayaka's problem is that she wasn't using grief seeds, silly. Does no one pay attention?
>>136176395
Nah, despair and curses was her problem. Homu used exponentially more magic.
>>136176395
And why didn't she use them? It's not like anyone told her not to use them.
>>136176417
She obviously had more than one problem, but anyone will turn into a witch if they simply aren't replenishing their soul gems.
>>136176433
Because she's a baka.
>>136176433
She's an idiot.
>>136176417
Homura has low to average magic potential. She just has a really OP ability and had 10~ years to master it. Outside of time stop or recovering, she never really has to use magic.
>>136176171
Better question, who mado here?
>>136176482
>>136176503

>>136176546
And how does halting the damn universe/rolling back time one month not use fucktons of magic?
>>136176640
Why does she have a cool-looking knife
>>136176672
It's never implied that it does. You can't make assumptions about this kind of thing when there are no rules given for it. Rewinding is most likely free since it's her wish, and her soul gem looks fine when she wakes up in the hospital. And she generally seems pretty casual about spending however long she needs in timestop. So either her power is fairly efficient, or she has a fuckton of grief seeds stockpiled.
Did witches exist before incubators interfered with earth?
>>136176672
Because she can only halt time as long as she has sand or rewind time all the way back to a set point? Her time stop is OP, but it does have some pretty specific limitations.
>>136176827
Probably not.
I always liked the idea that wraiths were there at first, but witches were a superior grief-predator so they died out. Hence why wraiths are around once the witches are all erased.
>>136176827
No. But entropy did.
>>136176672
It's not clear. My personal pet theory is that when she resets time, she cleanses her soul gem for the new timeline, but the grief accumulates outside of time or something like that, and then the accumulated grief of hundreds of timelines being unleashed in Rebellion is what made Homullilly so powerful and ultimately allowed her to turn into the demon goddess thing.
>>136176886
I really like that theory.
>>136177228
Not allowed.
>>136177329

Homulilly never existed. That was in the dream. Homura and Homura herself broke Madokami, not a witch. That'd be an easy cop out for her, even kf she "did nothing wrong." . She used half of the karmic threads that bonded her to Madoka and probably could only do that because of their bond.
>>136177579
I wonder how Hitomi would even make a contract in the Homuraverse, considering that the Incubators have seemingly been turned into cosmic chew toys.
>>136177715
It remains to be seen exactly what the QBs will do.
Probably whatever Homura wants them to do.
>>136177713
Homulily did exist, though. Just not outside of her soul gem.
>>136177715
I'm pretty sure magical girls still exist. Even in Homura's gem, there was a need for them.
>>136177820
I do believe that magical girls still exist, but there's no new contracts performed or Incubators could manipulate the situation to make girls wish against Homura.
>>136178089
How could any girl have the potential to rival Homura, or Madoka?
Homu kept incubators around for a reason, and incubators are for making magical girls.
>>136178089
But assuming they still can't make suggestions for a wish, how would Kyubey direct the girls into playing into his paws and against Homura?

Seeing this I wonder, despite her card saying she does, Kriemhild Gretchen doesn't seem to have a barrier, and also she doesn't look like a fucked up version of drawing from a gin ad. Maybe it's because we never really get a glimpse at a "fully developed" Gretchen and only see her in the first few moments of witchdom?
>>136180050
She looks pretty screwy, still.
And her barrier covers the entire earth, doesn't it?
>>136180177
Supposedly her barrier does grow to cover all of earth. But it's also supposedly a heaven-like dimension. We haven't seen anything that could be Gretchen's barrier, unless the theory that Madoka's wish and her witch are working in unison and the witchless world is actually comic Gretchen's barrier, which to be fair is a good theory if you don't account for Rebellion.
>>136180387
Kriemhild Gretchen's curse is an impossible ultimatum. Make the world peaceful in ten days or be destroyed. So the witch destroys everything at the end, creating a peace.
Madoka's wish is to erase witches before they are born, so Madokami trumps KG.

Those are not mutually exclusive. We know extremely little about Gretchen in the first place, so how can you claim that you know what it looks like when she does her thing?
>Calling her Gretchen is the same as calling Akuma Homura as Homulilly
No, Akuma Homura is explicitly neither a witch or a magical girl. Final Gretchen is clearly a witch.

I think it has to be something more than that. They would have been together forever at the end of Rebellion if Homura hadn't torn Madoka apart. Homura won't be satisfied if Madoka is away from all of her friends and family.
>>136183729
Ofcourse there will be. I dont get paid to write PMMM. From a story stand point though, we dont need some dramatic twist. We got that in Rebellion.
Also, they wouldnt have. There's no yuri heaven. That's a misunderstanding of how the LoC works. It's more like some Buddhist idea of the afterlife. Hence why Homura needed to become the natural opposite to Madoka for them to actually have a shot at be together.
>>136183391
She needs tough love if she's ever going to stand out.
>>136183729
Homura wants Madoka to be happy. Every single thing Madoka says regarding happiness relates back to Homura.

Eggs for breakfast: Saotome gave her egg speech the day they met.
Calling someone's name: Homura-chan!
Homura wants Madoka to be happy, but has to actually sit down and listen to what makes her happy. That's why they need to talk.

I'm not 100% on the law of cycles. Madokami's arrows were stopping the witches from being born, but the girls were obviously still dying. >>136184158

>>136184190

>>136183936

>>136184017
You should encourage her then. Go go Nagisa, you're the best!
>>136184085
That is true. I think there is enough evidence to believe that Madoka was lonely being the law of cycles though.
>>136184158
I dont think Urobuchi is to be honest. He said your soul just hangs out by itself and that going with Madoka would have still resulted in her never seeing Madoka again. They dont even have cheese in the Law of Cycles. Because of the dualistic thing going on and the girls using their witches as stands, I would assume souls can find peace and gain harmony with their "dark half".
In theory Madokami has no other half and is unable to attain peace. We can say that doesnt make sense, but Im pretty sure that's where they're going with it.
>>136184340
How would she be with Homura? She's too busy fighting a never ending battle across time and space for all eternity to settle down. She meant her soul would become oart of the law of cycles, not that they would hang out.

Homura can alter reality and and give physical form to Madoka and the souls of dead megucas. Atm, she's uses that power like a creeper. If she's working with Madoka, in theory they can create an actual paradise where they can see their/Madoka's meguca friends again.
>>136184673
That's how I think Rebellion should end. They'll create a magical girl heaven rather than a magical girl limbo.
That is unless Homura doesn't fuck up further.
>>136184532
How often are magical girls turning into witches? I doubt that there are so many that she wouldn't have any down time in between. This is assuming she is going through time linearly though, which might not be the case.
>>136184562

>>136184592
Read TDS. This is basically canonical.
>>136184756
Here's what's going to happen.
Homura is going to fuck up massively. That's inevitable. It's going to end up even worse than it was in the original universe. And things are only going to get worse as she fights everyone off who wants to fix things because her only priority is muh doka. Eventually even she will have to realize that she's only hurting Madoka, but by then it will be too late for a happy ending. Hormonal teenage girls can't create a paradise.
The last wish is always the one which undoes the harm that the first wishes caused. Thus, things will be returned to how they were after timeline 1. Madoka dies with a smile.
>>136166782
Madoka already had a happy ending, but it wasn't the ending Homura wanted. Homura mindfucked her friends to change the world into HER happy ending.
>>136185033
I was with you until the "Madoka dies for real" part. There's no way that will be how it ends.
>>136184908
Madoka sees every universe that is, was, and can be. She's pretty busy.
On the heaven thing, you keep calling it heaven. No one else in universe has and Mami described concepthood pretty brutally. I really dont think there would be a point of making Homura's god-tier power be reality altering in constrast to Madoka's nonexistence when some form of reconciliation is almost guarenteed.
>>136185033
When did Anno start directing PMMM?
>>136185377
Everyone calls it Meguca heaven or magical girl heaven so I just use those terms. It is probably closer to some kind of purgatory rather than a paradise though. It wasn't well explained but it looked like some kind of beautiful magical realm from the portal we saw just before Homura remade the universe. The girls also seemed to be able to interact with each other, or else how could Sayaka and Nagisa taken an assignment? I think that is some evidence that Madoka isn't constantly out there destroying witches since she had the time to talk to them, as well as having time to be locked away in Homura's labyrinth for a month. Since Madoka exists outside of time she can probably do things at her own pace now. I don't think we can truly know what it is like until it is shown or explained in better detail though.
>>136185864
> I don't think we can truly know what it is like until it is shown or explained in better detail though.
Hopefully the next movie/series will explain how it works. I thought Rebellion would explain how Madokami worked and what exactly happened after the magical girls got loc'd. All it actually gave us were a few crumbs
>>136185033
>she fights everyone off who wants to fix things because her only priority is muh laws
I doubt Madoka would fight. She even agrees with Homura that god doesn't know happiness. Still, some kind of consequence probably has to be dealt with. That might be part of Homura's plan too.
>the last wish is always the one which undoes the harm that the first wishes caused
Uh oh, one of those people who thinks wishes themselves need to be reversed. Usually it comes down to arguing that Madoka should have stayed dead in loop 1.
>Thus, things will be returned to how they were after timeline 1. Madoka dies with a smile.
Yeah, never gonna happen.
>>136188792
>I doubt Madoka would fight
Madoka's not the one fighting. He meant Homura.
>She even agrees with Homura that god doesn't know happiness.
Homura is just projecting and Madoka doesn't remember being a god. With the ballerina thing I think it's implied the Homura is manipulating Madoka.

>>136189362
>Missing the point of the duologue
It's implied that Madoka is being forced to live and dance to Homura's definition of happiness. That part I agree with.
There's no reason to believe Madoka's thought aren't her own though.. Madoka's thoughts are refering to Homura. That's consistent with Madoka because even if Homura fucked up this bad, Madoka promised never to abandon her regardless if she were good at the climax of Rebellion. This is consistent with Homura because she believes Madoka would hate her if she ever got her memories back and kill her. She wouldnt and those thoughts more or less confirm it.
>>136191299
*inconsistent with Homura
>>136191299

>>136191845
>Madoka is the one who fucked up.
No.
In regards to which universe is better, I'm still on the fence. We still haven't seen the full effects of Homura's changes or how much she changed.
>>136191845
It doesnt matter how great the universe is. Homura believes she betrayed Madoka. That is the source of conflict. Homura did create a functionally better world as far as we can tell. She's happy that Madoka is safe, but she hates herself for her actions. Madoka wouldn't want her to suffer like that.
>>136192134
The world looked particularly unstable at the end of Rebellion. Even if Homura created a better world, she might not be able to maintain it.
>>136192114
She's my waifu too.
>>136192460
Uh, that's not how that works.
>>136192450
With the half moon, fucked up landscape, on top of Madoka's returning memories, it sure looks that way.
>>136192114
Madoka is my waifu

>Why do you keep coming to make threads when you don't appreciate the show or the characters in the slightest?
What the fuck are you talking about?
I love Madoka Magica.
>>136193827
We all do. Crackhater is just being a baka
Does she?
>>136193798
The first two threads after we first got the concept movie recording were actually really good.
>>136193916
>calling an ass lover an ass
Is that a compliment or an insult?
>>136193959
You're just interpreting it as attacking. I just like shippingand porn
TDS?
TDS.
>>136193925
I wish it lasted longer. They were fucking great compared to the usual garbage we have.
>>136193991
He'll say that enjoying porn of Madoka proves you don't like it because it "insults/degrades the characters."
Which is comically dumb. I doubt every doujin artist hates the source material. Or that people who buy doujins do so out of spite. But whatever. Anti-crack-kun is mad per usual.
>>136194002
TDS?
>>136194021
I don't have to "address" jack shit, senpai. This is an imageboard, not a debate hall.
>>136193991
>>136194002
Quit it, thread was already dead and there's no discussion just stop.
Also, TDS has no romantic implications between Kyouko and Mami,
Stop trying.
>>136194048
There is literally nothing I could say or do to change his mindset, so I'm really not even bothering at this point.
>>136194066
But image dumping and meme posting is fun
You guys ever read Maguro Homura?
>>136194127
It's sorta weird.

Wew, Lad. Show me the law that says that and I'll change my tone.
Homura hates Mami.
I want to fuck Lucifer
>>136194253
I bet you're one of those dickheads who defend their shitposting by saying "freedom of speech".
>crackhater.jpg
AI YO!
But yeah, the movie was objectively bad. It's obvious that it could have easily been a 30 minute OVA, but they artificially extended it. Plus they revived everyone for maximum pandering, and had Homura do nothing wrong for some reason. Only one real fight scene, and much of the film was basically filler. Plus Bebe/Charlotte was there for no fucking reason.
Disappointing/10.
>>136194353
Ha, never gets old.
>>136194380I disagree, but respect your opinion
>>136194440
Because I don't care for arguing. You're the only one who gives even a slice of shit
>>136194504
>Heh, I translated that.
Did you also type set it?
Because using the font "Hand of Sean" was a fucking terrible choice. It's annoying and hard to read.
>>136194525
Your choice of posting is a terrible choice and your the obnoxious one who can't quit.
>>136194525
I like that font. It's kinda cute.
>>136194540
>you're wrong because I say so
Sure thing, kid.
>>136194593
Wait, are you the same guy as >>136194540?
I'll take that as a yes
What could have happened if Mami never lost her head.
>>136194775
Who the fuck is Hibike?
>>136194807
None of those were me, Sempai
>>136194871
Do you really having nothing better to do?
>>136194917
You know, you don't have to reply with an image just to bait.
>>136194961
I mean sure the ships are shit, but at least he's posting madoka images in a madoka thread. You've just been getting mad for like an hour. Seems like you could do something else more enjoyable.
>>136195064
Seems like you can stop bumping and leaving the abandon thread to die.
Why is every Madoka thread I enter like this?
>India forever
>>136195064
If it's what Madoka threads devolve into every single time, I'd say we should just let them die.
>>136195195
Nope I'm actuallyjust getting here. But I think I know who you are because I've delt with you many times before.
Who is !Akemi? Just some ghost to blame everything on?
