IT: why youre too pussy to do the One-Punch man workout.

Because I don't have a treadmill to run those 10KM and fuck going outside for such a long run everyday.
I'd probably to it non consecutively at first seeing as all I can manage is 20 with my hikineet body, then move up to consecutive.
>>
>>136152469
running a treadmill is nowhere near the same as actually carrying yourself a distance. trust me. Im not a physicist but I know it takes about a tenth of the effort. and why not go outside? life is beautiful. also, part of the workout is EVERY SINGLE DAY.

What's the point, A fit person could die tomorrow to a bus or something while some fat person who never leaves his house is still alive.

We all die so why does it matter what body shape you are.

>>136152575

>>
Because I'd lose out on anime watching time if I spent time exercising
>>
>>136152629
Well you see lulu from where I'm typing working out is rather positive in many ways outside of the physical.

It breeds good discipline, and is also one of the few things I do that rewards me everytime. Not because of some random, arbitrary, or nebulous reason just plain old effort.
>>
>>136152629
>Of course but it still applies that you could die tomorrow

What does this have to do with anything though. If you have only limited time on earth why do nothing with it. Use the time you have to be productive fit and healthy so that your limited time is more enjoyable than living as a fat slob.

Nobody expects a six pack to stop bullets. Also using the inevitably of death as an excuse to stay fat and ugly is the most dumbass fedora wearing fuccboi shit I've ever.
>>
>>136152526
>running a treadmill is nowhere near the same as actually carrying yourself a distance. trust me. Im not a physicist but I know it takes about a tenth of the effort.
Unless you are grabbing at the handles I could see that but how does running normally on a flat surface differ from running normally on a flat surface?
>part of the workout is EVERY SINGLE DAY.
By non consecutively I meant doing a set of twenty, resting, then doing another until my body got used to it without having a meltdown when I tried for 100.
I'd still be putting in the required number everyday just not in one go.
Building up is way better than just jumping to it and having your body going nuclear on your ass.
>>
>>136152722
>regulated environment

Gee I wonder how different running inside is from running outside? 1/10th the effort? Nah. Getting less bang for your buck? Absolutely.
>>
>>136152629
I dont plan on nor do I expect to die any day. to live my life with that fear limiting me in my activities would be a life without freedom. I know that my time is limited, and even if I spent my whole life accumulating amazing objects, possesions and experiences, I would still die. Yes. so to live my life selfishly is pointless. The basis of all life is production and reproduction. As the countless billions of humans before me were produced band nurtured to maturity by others, it only follows the natural life cycle that I would produce and give back to the world that has been fed into me. The culmination of a true life is the impact and changes in the world left and stayed long after I am gone. My children, my family, my work; all of it it greater than me. To become a complete person, I seek to fulfill my life in all its capacities, and that means producing the most positive change in the world, and myself. because they are one and the same.

and I wanna fuck anytime

>Bad
Fuck you and your Old School Rocky shit.

>>

>running on a flat surface
the difference is that on a treadmill, the flat surface is running under you. regardless of your level of effort, the same distance and speed will be applied to whatever settings you have it on. instead of using the real effort of pushing your body against gravity and propelling yourself forward, the forward is propelling towards you, and you need only balance on it. see what Im saying?
> I meant doing a set of twenty, resting....
oh, of course. it would nutso to dive right in. Im trying to do this myself actually, ive been doing sets of 25.

>>
>>136151951
Honestly any anon on this forum can do this regularly after 1-2 month. You have to build yourself up to this lvl because it's unrealistic and dangerous to go for that lvl when you've been living a sedentary life. I would recommending doing 1/10th of that every day and added 5 reps and 400 meters(1 lap around a track) every 2 weeks until you reach the final goal. One push-up, One sit-up, one squat, and one step at a time is how you reach your goal.

Though it is actually heartening to see people inspired by Saitama please don't just do his workout.

Once you've built yourself a decent work ethic for it (if keeping it simple if amateurish works than more power lad) then invest your powers towards a more thought out plan.

>>136151951
Want to know how he became so strong?

He did those all at the same time.
>>
>>136152911
The biggest difference is that you don't need to push against air resistance on a treadmill, gravity isn't relevant here.

If you really think that running on a treadmill takes one tenth of the effort of running on any other flat surface I suggest you go back to school.

Thats a pretty bad workout actually. You should never combine exercises to build muscle with exercises to improve your stamina.
The stamina exercises will cause your body to produce substances that inhibit muscle growth. That's also the reason why people think it's impossible to build muscle using only the own body weight, they simply try to build muscle by running.

I need to fix my diet, but to fix my diet I need money, but to get money I need a job, but to get a job I need to be healthy, but to be healthy I need to exercise, but for the exercise to even make an impact I need to fix my diet.

I've been living the hiki lifestyle for nearly 10 years being enabled by my dad, living off mostly junk food (pizza and anything microwavable). Having been either sitting or sleeping for nearly 10 years I'm afraid of how much movement I can actually do before I get a heart attack.

You're not taking into account that once you've achieved perpetual momentum that you're under the same conditions as on a treadmill.
It may seem as if you're putting more effort into keeping up the momentum when not on a treadmill, but it's just perspective.
Just like the band is moving under you, the ground is moving under you once you've gained perpetual motion.

The run is the killer.

10km run can take up to 50 minutes - lets say an hour with cool-down. Add in getting changed before and after, and maybe a shower afterward you are looking at a 2 hour commitment every day for very little benefit.

I used to run a dojo and one of my students did a 10km run 3 times a week. It didn't help his cardio much or his endurance in sparring and training.

I would say you are better off doing tabata sprints or intervals. Or a VO2 max test aka beep test.

>>136153634
>>136151951

In 2013 I wanted to go to the next Olympics doing Judo. I was also in the military and part of a special forces unit that allowed an hour of fitness training a day during work hours (I was an support officer, not an operator).

Every day I did 120 L-pull ups and 120 kettle-bell swings with 40kg kettlebell at work. During the day I would do a further 400 clapping push-ups, 400 squats, and 400 sit-ups. This was every day, of every week, of every month for a year.

To add to that I did 9 hours of Judo a week (three 3 hour sessions) at an Olympic level.

I was already at a high level of fitness but this pushed my body beyond anything I had ever done. But I didn't account for over-training.

The intense workouts, long Judo sessions and lack of recovery led to injuries which crippled me by the end of the year. I could no longer do push-ups because of chronic pain in my shoulders, my knees and feet were in constant pain and my muscles wouldn't heal.

I attended a lot of competitions and placed in the top three of all of them, and I was on track for an Olympic placement, but in the end I had to decide whether I was willing to destroy my body for 15 minutes of glory. I decided it wasn't worth it and quit.

I've stopped doing Judo, but I still train martial arts.

Everything comes with a price. All the high level olympic and ex-olympic Judoka from my old dojo are broken wrecks. Same goes for high level athletes. They are all broken.

Your muscles heal fast but not your bones, running everyday will put far too much stress on them and unless you are a professional athlete it's not worth the pain and getting crippled later in your life.

These two anons are right. Athletes are machines and Olympic training pushes the body beyond normal limits - regularly to breaking point.

Regular exercise is healthy, over training can ruin you. It takes years to reach a high level of fitness. If you just jump in the deep end and expect to push out hundreds of push-ups a day without building yourself up first, your body is just going to break.

Adding to that doing an isolated exercise (like a push-up) will unbalance your muscle structure without a counter exercise (assisted pull-up, pull-up, dip). There is an exact science to exercise.

>>136156392

Tabata sprints are an advanced workout, but they are a self-regulating exercise and excellent for cardio and strength.

Unless you are obese or don't walk regularly they are a very good form of exercise.

It's called sakki or 'killing intent'.

It's a term used in martial arts and in Japanese culture. It's described as an overwhelming ominous feeling of impending death.

In the context of this webm Genos uses sakki to sense his impending death due to Saitama's punch, but Saitama hold's back at the last second (splitting the sky).

It means, had Saitama not held back Genos would have died.

>What sport/martial art/exercise is the best for maintaining good health even at an old age (let's say 70-80 years)?

I've practiced aikido for close to 9 years, and I think it's excellent for this purpose. There are no competitive matches, so no one has any motive to wreck you, you're mostly moving just your own mass, so it's very safe to practice. So long as you're not a total landwhale anyway. I've never once been injured in practice. And when you get thrown down and get up hundreds of times in a night, you're bound to get in a pretty good shape eventually. When you gain experience, you can set the pace for your own technique and go faster if you want a heavier workout.

Of course, it's not completely risk-free. You can take anything too far, and practitioners commonly have trouble with their knees due to practicing too much/not moving right.

What exactly defines a beginner?
When I started, I haven't done any exercise in years. I wasn't fat or anything, but weak and flabby.
The day I started working out, I did 100 push ups and 100 squats (with dumbbells) without problems. Three days in sequence, no cramps.
Even increased reps weekly, until I got to 400.

You're no physicist, or useful human being either.

All you have to do is put your treadmill at a slight incline. That counteracts any of the assistance a treadmill might be giving you.

Even without that, you really think it's a tenth of the effort? Ok, you put that treadmill at 15mph and run about a tenth as hard as you would on pavement. If you don't break your face on something, you win a cookie.

This is a part of my resolution (thankfully not a new year's one). Once every 2 years I opt to do something crazy.

My previous ones were 2 years of street workouts around the age of 19 (dips, chinups, etc..), cycling (dominantly with a normal pace, but not without fast pedaling in each session).

Each time I meet tons of people who are willing to help me. It's fucking great. I am not the sociable and talkative type, but when I meet people with the same interests, I don't feel as anxious to talk with them.

I'm sorry if this doesn't make any sense, I'm not english.

It wasn't depression, but it was something akin to it. It jumpstarted something inside me.

I wanted to do something with my life - I had spent most of my teen years indoors, fapping and wasting away the best times of my life, feeling miserable.

meeting new people with common interests has been an amazing experience for me, it has allowed me to socialize more. I've met (female) high-school teachers in their thirties who jog for fun (and for stress relief? Teens are sometimes awful people to deal with.), 23 year old workout pros, swimmers, old people...

Hell, life is interesting if you actually bother to go outside and do things. Complaining how life is boring when all you do is stay at home isn't something you should do.

>>136164506

Like I'd make a batch of pasta sauce and boil some pasta each night and plop some sauce from the fridge on it.
Not much of a sauce though, it had so much veggies and mince in it that it was more like a tomato stew that I ate with pasta.
Wholewheat pasta of course.
Another favourite was wholewheat rice

Literally just row. Rowing, besides being one of the oldest, most respected, and manliest sports, works out all major muscle groups at once.
