I think the same reasoning applies to every skill. That person will improve with practice, and even if they never meet your standards, it's none of your business how they choose to have fun. Roleplaying is not a contest and I wasn't being "rewarded" any more than all of you eventually would be.
What the hell are you so upset about? That my digimon got to evolve before yours? I don't understand why that matters. EVERYONE was going to evolve soon enough. EVERYTIME that happened, you threw a hissyfit and decided to not listen to us.

Eh, that's debatable. In the Adventure universe, any digimon with a digivice appears to reincarnate with memories intact, making them the same person they were when they died. It happened in Savers too, and even in Tamers it was implied some part of Leomon was backed up.
If you consider the current Patamon a copy, that opens a massive philosophical can of worms, and the possibility that humans "die" several times. At best, we become copies when our cells are replaced. At worst, we become copies whenever they sleep. Digimon being made of data makes this even less of an issue, since the "same atoms" division doesn't apply.
While the Apocalymon shit was pretty rushed, I did like the idea of "they never needed the crests, it was in their hearts all along" thing. It's really cheesy but it totally works for something like Digimon.

What advice? All I remember was you telling me to try harder. All I understood was "think of what your character would say" repeated a dozen slightly different ways. It's not enough. Nothing you ever said was of any use in choosing the exact words coming out of my character's mouth on the spot. I need a method, not empty encouragement. I need step-by-step instructions.
If I ever pushed anyone away - and that's news to me - then it's because you were being overbearing and repeating the same worthless advice I had heard long before meeting you. If you truly weren't, then I'm sorry, it was lost on me. I'm positive I wasn't aware of anything you did in-character to help me, due to using all available brain power looking for the exact words a totally different person would say in that situation. It's not about language, it's about having an intuitive sense for personality traits.
So what if I'm not interested in a one-shot session? So what if I'm not interested in trope lists or theme songs? How does that affect you? Go ahead and do those things without me, I don't find them fun, and you are not owed my participation. The ONLY thing I did that could possibly be lazy was not pitching an evolution episode, which I thought I could do later once I had examples for inspiration. I never wanted to be picked second.
My character was a cardboard cutout because THAT'S ALL I CAN DO, as I told you constantly. I don't trust myself to write down a list of personality traits ahead of time and accurately portray them. I don't make bland characters on purpose, they just end up that way under pressure.
From my point of view, you threw a tantrum because I'm bad at conversation. You can sugarcoat it however you like, but at the end of the day, that's the root cause. I hope you're happy, I really do, because the last thing I want to be is disruptive. Goodbye.
