The manga seems to be transitioning from harem shenanigans to a DRAMA filled love triangle. And we know Japan loves dumb love triangles with drama.
But then again nips seem pretty apathetic towards Nisekoi recently looking at the WSJ rankings, but it's still selling really well. Who knows.

She's in a relationship already, which, albeit fake, slows the progress to a halt. Marika was the only one open about her feelings, and both her and Yui-nee when she confessed were already turned down. Haru is an underclassman who has a crush on her sister's crush, Chitoge has warmed up slowly and was already in a (fake) relationship with him, and Kosaki is shy as fuck. Oh, and it's not yet been 2 years.
The progression in-universe is justified, 2 girls having dropped off the race.
