Today's episode felt like it was directed differently than usual. A lot of framings and angles that I can't remember ever being shown before, different sound direction (like strategic use of silence), and alternate background shots where the characters just get sparkles behind them. This episode was pretty much entirely what you would expect from the preview.I feel the desire to tell the other anon who was very excited to watch it to use spoiler tags but I don't want to ruin his fun. That wouldn't be very Aikatsu.

When Madoka and Rin were first announced, there are probably two things everyone thought: that Madoka would pair with Akari, and that she would be the more "main" girl over Rin. Only after several episodes dragging it out and teasing you, Madoka finally takes the plunge and asks Akari to form their unit. This process and lead up allowed for a feeling of catharsis. It wasn't any sort of afterthought; because you were given the expectation of the most obvious unit but didn't see it until the end, when Dancing Diva and Passion Jalapeno formed and hit you from out of nowhere with how great they both are, it had a much greater impact than if they had happened afterwards.
