Should I bother with watching the second season ?
I want things explained but I heard they weren't and there will likely never have a 3rd season

You should read the manga "Shikkoku no Hana". You could use it as an epilogue to DtB, instead of the second season. The author is the character designer for the anime as well as the author of "Dimension W" manga. it's excellent.

If you liked season 1, DO NOT watch season 2. Different main character who's a shitter. Badass is now a babysitter who does nothing ever. Everything good was raped and season 2 is the leftovers (shit).
