I dislike how he uses old-ass Western tropes like they're fresh and gets praised for it (so many fucking hookers with hearts of gold). Also how he's so focused on creating a mystery that he forgets that one day it needs to be solved, so all of his endings are shit. Regardless his works are fun rides and tend to have more realistically behaving characters than your average manga, even if most of them are shallow one-offs.

Half of Happy is just 'to be honest i can write a depressing 70s shoujo' and just soullessly going through the motions until it picks up an identity as an Urasawa series. 20th Century Boys is partially about pop culture from the 60s, Monster is just one of Tezuka's edgy series but refined
