The end kinda left me a bit unsatisfied but everything made sense in the context of the story. Togame dies and thus history can't be falsified by her anymore and the shogun just gets replaced with another one of his bloodline so that his death didn't really matter in the end. The deviant blades also disappeared from the face of the earth. History is healed. I guess Shichika didn't die at the palace because he followed Togame's last order which is a bittersweet ending for his story. I don't know whether I missed the "punchline" but I couldn't really get emotionally invested in the story. A great anime nonetheless

I started watching this because of a webm from a webm thread, and the first episode opened with a 20 minute conversation. Then I found out it was written by Nisio so it's probably all like that.
Absolutely loved it, one of my favorite shows of all time.
Great show. Legitimately funny, interesting, fantastical. I think one of the best adventure story anime out there.
And wow, that finale left a huge impression. That boss rush was one of the longest smiles I've gotten watching anime.

I really enjoyed the dialogue. Even the more talk heavy episodes flew by really fast.
However by the end I didn't really feel satisfied, personally.
Love the anime, love the fanbase, but I kind of hate the name of the anime. It's hard to say and it sounds like "guitary" which makes it sound like a music anime which it isn't at all. I tell people to watch Katana Guitary and they're like what is that some kind of samurai rock band anime? Way too awkward.
Also I'm sick of there being "twelve" of something. Twelve swords? What a fucking cliche and overused meme number. Bullshit if you ask me.
I also hate how there's literally no doujins that are worth reading. So for all of these reasons I have to take it down to a 7/10.
