If One Piece is an actual physical treasure. D will actually stand/mean something not stupid. The will of D and Roger's treasure are way too connected for Oda to not do this. Although dreams are a major theme in one piece and its certainly in the will of d to continue the age of dreams as it were I would imagine. Such is how ideas tend to work.

Really depends on if you are will to sit down and watch 700 episodes or at least figure out whats filler and what isn't which probably will cut it down to maybe 500 or so. But yes. On the whole even though the recent arc has kind of had the worst pacing of any arc and this is from a guy who doesn't mind bad shonen pacing because lets face it shonen catching up to its source material rarely goes well.
