Just got done watching all the movies for mobile suit gundam, can we talk about this little shit right here.
You haven't watched Victory, have you?
The first thing he does (chronologically) is parachute onto a mobile suit and then throw the grown man piloting it out.
Or we have Garrod Ran, who similarly hijacks a mobile suit in the first episode with a homemade flash grenade, a grappling hook, and a pistol.
No that shit is boring as hell you're lucky I even suffered through the movies. Even though I sort of started liking it half way. I won't do it for the rest though.
He likes older women obviously.
Nope I already like the the main character from zeta at least he has real flaws.
Isn't Garrod from AW? Granted, it's heavily implied that AW is the future of UC but I have a hard time believing that if AW is so far in the future, why do the MS look inferior against late UC Mobile suits. MS from Victory and Crossbone seem more powerful than MS in Gundam X.
Apparently you neglected to watch char's counter attack, or you watched the wrong movie.
Whoops, I forgot the UC part of the post I was originally replying to. Garrod is not a UC protagonist.
AW is an alternate universe deliberately set up to mirror the OYW if it had ended with Zeon dropping nearly every colony.
When he took the gundam and ran off for the dessert that was the true turning point of me hating this little shit. Then he wants to cry when bright said we need others beside amuro to pilot the gundam.
Let's talk about the main character of Gundam then.
Then you have no right to insult him until you've watched this.
The picture is for you, Ditto.
Quick question /a/ is this new type crap going to ruin the series like I think it will?
This better not be a spoiler faggot.
That depends if fighting gundams with the spirits of your dead comrades or shooting newtype beams to make someone forget everything about their life will ruin the series for you.
Why did you have to tell me this, I'm triggered already.
I knew it why couldn't they win with skills instead of this new type crap.
He was the best, because he's the only one who got that princess poon.
Also he apparently has god-tier newtype powers, as well as f*cking the Princess of Zeon in her mouth.
Uso would probably end up fucking Shakti after they grow older.
Come on don't say that I want to become a fan like you guys. I want to know all the lore so I can enjoy series like build fighters more.
I'm only on episode 15 of Victory so it could change, but I like Amuro better right now. His bottomless lust for Zeke destruction was my favorite part about watching 0079. He just never stops wrecking Space Nazi shit and doesn't understand why anyone else would.
Amuro is so relatable from the very first episode. He's introduced sitting around in his undies dicking around with a computer and barely reacts when a girl barges into his room. If you don't immediately like him from that point then you're probably a loser who has lots of friends.
08th MS Team and 0080 are pretty good, and 0083's first half is good but then it gets kind of shitty.
Unicorn is good but you have to watch Z, ZZ, and Char's Counterattack to fully appreciate it but those are all shit
>His bottomless lust for Zeke destruction
>He just never stops wrecking Space Nazi shit
You might like Uso a lot more by the end. While his conviction tries to hold him back from slaughtering Zanscare scum, he has the highest kill count of any Gundam protagonist.
You can watch 0080 now because it's a prequel that only requires seeing MSG. Unless you want to save it as a reward for completing Zeta/daburu zeta because it's excellent. 08th MS is also a prequel.
>cocky and confident
>speaks his mind and won't take your bullshit (fuck you Mr. Wong)
>gets both loli and /ss/ action
>loves and protects his imouto, always thinks of her future
>a real human bean who mourns senseless loss of life, even of his enemies
>doesn't step into the cockpit an ace pilot, gets better naturally through work and experience
How do people not love this guy?
After meeting that one dude in space, he gets a lot more alright with killing. There's also the nice contrast of him refusing to directly shoot at exposed pilots early on, and then just incinerating foot soldiers with his beam saber near the end.
I'm not sure people dislike Judau as much as they dislike the series he's from. The stark contrast from 0079 and Zeta for like the first 20 episodes and making Bright and Yazan out to be utter retards.
WHY USE NAKED WOMEN?
It doesn't really retcon Late UC, or at least that's never been implied to be the case. If anything, the existence of Late UC, RC, and CC, pretty much shit all over Unicorn's ending.
Because she expected Uso to be enough of a kid that the sight of half-naked women would be enough to fluster and stall him long enough for them to blow up the Gundam. I mean, I think it definitely would have worked against an Uso from the beginning of Victory, but he had just seen way too much shit by that point for it to affect him.
No, no, I'm well aware.
I guess I messed up the line.
With my friend who just finished 0079, i said that he could watch any of the OYW things, but i heavily suggested he at least start zeta first so he can appreciate the higher production values
I think most of the dislike of Unicorn comes from it being the worst example of deliberate Newtype magic in any animated UC series (I personally think the later Crossbone manga is way worse).
Axis being pushed back at the end of CCA due to the miracle of Newtypes and humanity's will pushing it back was acceptable to me. Not to mention that both Amuro and Char died as a result of that. Was it still kind of ridiculous? Yeah, but Amuro didn't intentionally do anything except try to push it back with the Gundam.
Compared to Banagher, who pilots a Gundam that pretty much weaponizes the miracle that happened. He literally creates a giant Newtype shield out of his own will that blocks a colony laser, becomes a "perfect Newtype" that is able to disable an army of suits at once, and then even comes back alive. And this isn't even mentioning that time travel bullshit.
So were a lot of things.
I don't understand people that dislike Zeta. ZZ can suck a dick, though.
Bright had a lot of shit to deal with for a 19 year old butter bar officer. He had the weight of the whole war on his shoulders, so it was natural for him to be stressed out and want to slap people back into order because he had no fucking time for that shit
I liked the characters. MC started off as a bitch but learned to stop being one, and it was cool seeing the cast from MSG come back and interact with the new characters. Plus, the difference in production value between MSG and Zeta blew me away from the first episode onward.
>mfw any time katz said or did anything
>mfw reccoa's bullshit
>mfw any time somebody launched spontaneously without consulting bright
>preaches non violence
>sucker punches anyone he disagrees with
Ignoring Katz, Kamille was the worst part of Zeta.
I didn't like how the battles invariably ended when a named character's suit got its arm/leg blown off then they'd run away. The obligatory battle every episode got super tiring over the stretch of the show. The whole mecha aspect felt like it took a back seat to melodrama. They were in space too much also.
The MOTW format was better. At least it had some variety and consequences. And it felt like they were taking war more seriously when they had to resupply and take care of civilians and get salt and follow military orders and whatever, instead of being unable to control their children pilots who take off with a suit every time they throw a temper tantrum.
This post pretty much sums up the few things I didn't like >>135976360 but I also hated how all of the good characters
basically dieoutside of Bright. Fa was so useless during the whole series. She was only useful in ZZ for helping Kamille out. Why was she the only girl to survive all of that?
Why did he lose all ability to pilot a mobile suit in Zeta?
I get that he was in the mentor role, but in every battle he was just sort of there. Not really doing anything but firing wildly into space like an amateur while everyone else wrecked shit up.
Because he had to suppress his powers or else people would realize he is actually a Char.
My favorite ones were all of Jerid's love interests.
Actually rewatched the first episode the other day, literally everyone is going on about how this guy is "a veritable red comet"
Speaking of "red", best Mobile Suit coming through with the best theme.
I wouldn't say it was unforgivably flawed, but there are some glaring issues during the later half. Some of the biggest ones are how Jerid just shows up everywhere Kamille is
even after he fucking fell off the cliff, how Axis disappears for ten episodes, and Rosammy building up to nothing.
Sarah a best though.
>Jerid just shows up everywhere Kamille is
even after he fucking fell off the cliff
Jerid must enternally suffer for calling Kamille a girl.
>tfw no song called: HERE COMES AMURO
