But on the topic, I think both have their strong points. The movies have better visuals, sounds, and music. Unfortunately they cut some things out from the TV series. I still prefer the movies I think, but for a first time watcher I would recommend the series.

I found the ending of the TV show super satisfying but I want more content.

It is some new project. Most likely a movie but it might be another season. I don't think a release date has been set. It appears to take place after the third movie.

It's more accurate to call it inconclusive than unsatisfying, though it's also very divisive. Some people really hate Rebellion, but in my opinion the only reason they do is that they failed to understand the characters even after watching 12 episodes and a movie.
