CR doesn't give that ad money to "the industry" you fucking dumbass. Anime studios usually do not get any ad money revenue out of these broadcasts, and the fact CR is partly owned by TV Tokyo means they're almost guaranteed bound under that typical arrangement.
The licenses they pay out and the translators they use are just overhead. They pay a lump sum up front for the right to to broadcast the shows. So it's not additive per subscriber.

To explain further, in Japan on most channels the studios actually pay the broadcasters to air the shows, not the other way around like the West. This is why so many anime air between midnight-2 or 3 AM there because those are the cheapest slots and they know the fans will either stay up to watch it or DVR it (they all do that over there; before DVRs existed fans used those programmed VCRs to record the shows).
Sometimes in prime time slots anime actually do make ad revenue (Space Bros comes to mind) but the vast majority of the 1 or 2 cour seasonals we see are on Japan's otherwise fucked up broadcast system. This is why the BD/merch sales are all the more important to the studios. The studios do not entirely rely on these however either, unless it is an anime-original / they otherwise own the license (like KyoAni owns all the shitty LNs it's been adapting). Normally, a license holder (i.e Kadokawa) will pay a studio a sum up-front to adapt a work in the first place, and the studio then gets either a small cut or none of the follow up revenue from non-BD merch. If the studio owns the license it can then make bank off non-BD merch too; this is in good part why Gainax is still around despite having put out not much of note for years since Eva was theirs.

No, I'm carefully explaining to you that "ad revenue" is essentially a non-factor for anime besides prime time syndicated stuff like One Piece or whatever, which basically does not apply to what /a/ follows. In Japan, and on CR. Tokyo TV is part owner of CR and are the intermediaries that allow it to have these agreements in the first place. Tokyo TV wouldn't do this if they had to just give all the money CR makes back to the studios; they aren't a charity and in fact work in the opposite direction collecting from the studios for right to broadcast.
All in all in Japan's system, just having cable and watching anime on it there, or here via super duper official stream, does not actually give jack shit to the studios just merely by doing that. CR takes advantage of your naivete on this subject to say "yay you're helping!" because naive teens don't know any of this shit I just told you.

Those aren't the studios themselves. That's the oligarchy of Kadokawa etc, who are in fact the exact companies that push all these shitty magic battle harem LN adaptations onto the studios only because they want to shill some garbage LN harder. The studios are offered more money to do these shit series so they take the jobs because they need every extra yen possible.
So it doesn't actually impact the people who need it most, only gives more ammo to the license holders to push whatever they want onto the studios.
