Haruhi was badly written as the fanservice and moe was overplayed again and again, supernatural elements were clever but overshadowed by the fact that the bitch was the cause or kyon by a plausible theory. The supernatural elements however were entertaining, if that was the only thing focused instead of a terrible slice of life. It kept alot of good monologue from the protagonist but the series lacked character progression diminishing the quality of the characters over time by exception of Kyon but I don't see the good qualities of Haruhi.
Adaptations? Yeah, most of them are.
But it's also a question of whether or not the source material is decent or not.

The annoying part is that they intentionally mostly adapt LNs that have patterns from anime that sold well.
it's not surprising that Rakudai, asterisk and other LN anime have the same first episode, that's exactly why the producers chose to adapt those LNs. They have all the right patterns.
It goes to the cover as well, they all feature relatively the same cover, publishers do that intentionally to increase sales and chances of an adaptation.
There are dozen of interesting LNs, same for manga as well that will never see an adaptation this way. They don't conform to patterns LNfags expect to see.
