Majestic 12 turns out, however, as told by the narrator, to be a forgery, and it's all revealed to have been a way to set you up for information about Vannevar Bush.

I actually thought the alien/conspiracy stuff was appropriate, it tied in with all of the rumors floating around on the net (an accurate reflection of the real internet's love of conspiracy theories), as well as the KIDS system. Helps shake the viewer out of complacency as well.
