I theorically like the pure western high fantasy stuff, but for some reason what I actually enjoy more are those fantasy shows full of tropes and jrpgish stuff like technomagic, powerarmor, catgirls...

3-5 friends travel together, being mix of guys and girls. Each has their own goal they want to accomplish and different reasons for being in the party. They travel to different villages and cities to fight off bandits or monsters, or maybe just fish. As the series goes on, the tone gets gradually more tense until the final few episodes where they have to save the world in traditional fantasy fashion, going from comfy to epic. By the time the series is over, each character has fulfilled what they set off to do. Now just through in a fully orchestrated soundtrack and tons of stunning landscape shots.

Discover the world and go on silly adventures.

They'd just be entirely useless and random knights and farmers will pop out of nowhere and save their ass. Everyone seems like a genius compared to them. The final battle is just them running from the final boss until he dies from starvation because they keep running into farmers and he doesn't.
