When will KyoAni adapt Otoyomegatari?
>>

bitch please

it's going to be Shaft and you know it
>>
people actually think the manga would work as an anime?

Please no. I'll suck Shafts shaft any day, but they would probably suck at adopting Otoyo.

Only if KyoAni makes it.
>>
>>135852672
An adaptation at all? The budget would have to be dedicated to the patterns alone.
>>
>>135852944
its a manga which people talk about solely because of the drawing detail on clothing and such
how is that kind of manga suitable for anime?
>>
>>135852889
KyoAni is the only studio that would actually make it as detailed as the manga.

The animation would have to be very basic if they want to aim fur such details in the clothes and patterns. But I still rather have KyoAni do it than SHAFT.

SHAFT would just butcher the visual style completely and make their own using the Bake template.

Has Kyoani ever done anything serious? Their shows always feel too fluffy and fun even with melodrama. Otoyomegatari is all about love and serious romantic feelings.

Hyouka did it well I guess. Not romance but the serious tone it had often.

I've seen some of the trailers for Kizu and the quality leaves to be desired. They do the same trick as >>135852894 says. Everything looks so CGI and simplistic it hurts, I know that's Bake style but they usually do the same with other shows and I don't trust them in getting it right with this manga at all.

They're supposed to be doing 3 gatsu no lion soon. Let's see how that looks and hopefully it won't look like pic related.

Even the Yoshinari brothers did key animations for it.

You would only need to hire Studio Pablo for the backgrounds.
And half of the job is already done.
http://studio-pablo.com/garelly.html

More important is it to have a creative team that understands what's the appeal of Otoyomegatari.

KyoAni has enough talent in-house, no need to outsource, they're not SHAFT.
>>
>>135856088
Well I guess that's one, even though they're still technically highschoolers, at least it wasn't set in a highschool for once.
>>
>>135856079
Similar settings, but they have a lot of diversity in terms of content and genres.
>>
>>135856228
Technically most anime have highschoolers as protagonist, atleast that is the typical age range.
>>
>>135855972
Do Tamako and KnK count?
>>
>>135856234
I'll agree to an extent, but having similar settings really limits what content there is. I just don't think Otoyomegatari is a show they could do right.
>>
>>135856289
I don't think so. Highschool isn't a huge focus, but it's still a main setting in those series.
>>
KyoAni is too uniform.

Boring as hell.

Clannad AS wasn't set in high school and they did it just fine, arguably a better show than the first season.
>>
>>135856348
I think they're one of the few studios that could do it right, but to each their own.

One thing you all seem to forget is that KyoAni has a lot of female animators and even a director. I'm sure they could do a better job at understanding the source material.
>>
>>135856552
I suppose I think they COULD do it right as well, the problem is I don't believe they would.

>>135856486
>arguably a better show than the first season.
It was literally the only reason to watch the first season since the first was garbage.

They'd need the seriousness of Clannad AS, with the visuals of Hyouka modified to fit the theme of the setting Otoyomegatari has.
>>
>>135856702

the lesbian arc was such a waste of time, I don't want to buy the volumes but the gap in my collection is triggering my autism really bad.
>>
>>135857881
It was good.
I seriously don't get why people disliked it so much. Is it just because it's yuri? It was just as cute and diabetes inducing as the rest of the manga. Autistic waifu gets her first friend and ends up loving her as a sister and another person, eventually sharing her love with her husband.
>>
>>135857881
everything to do with lesbianism is boring as fuck
irl lesbians are just waste of space and time
>>
>>135858589
>irl lesbians
Good thing that has nothing to do with 2D.

>There are people who actually care what gender the characters are for romance
I generally only like het romance since I'm not a faggot and like you said, yuri is usually boring. But all of them have good ones. Prunus Girl is 100% homotrapshit yet it's cute as fuck. Lonely Wolf, Lonely Sheep is yurishit but it's cute as fuck.

What truly matters is the development between the characters.
>>
>>135857986
>Autistic waifu gets her first friend

exactly that was annoying, her naivety.
>>
When KyoAni adapts Keit-Ai, then you'll know Otoyomegatari is next.
>>
>>135858848
She was naive for a reason though. Sheltered as fuck because of the culture she was raised in.
>>
>>135858911

that it has a reason, doesn't mean that it is interesting in any way.
>>
>>135859017
But the wives and love in this series are interesting BECAUSE of the culture and how the people are raised. That's like the entire thing for this series.
>>
I think Kyoani is a good choice for a period piece like this because you know they always do a lot of research on their shows.

The same way a bratty tomboy finding out about love is interesting.
