They count to three and leap, but as MC leaps something pulls him from behind and he drops the phone into the well, hearing an anguished "I LOVE YOU" echo through the walls as it falls. It turns out to be the girl from his world, who happened to pass nearby and hear his voice. She berates him and nearly cries because she thought he was going to kill himself, showing how much she cares for him now. MC decides to leave, and later tries to call the other girl's number from another phone, but to no avail. He and his world's girl eventually hook up, and the girl in the other world dies, believing her love to have died with her.
