Everything is in place, and SHAFT needs to just not fuck up. I hope they stick closely to the original character designs and that the backgrounds are detailed and not too minimalistic. Not too worried about them and the color scheme given the website matching the manga's color pages.

Synopsis

3-gatsu no Lion is drawn by Chika Umino and began publishing in 2007 with 11 volumes in print. The series was nominated for the 2nd Manga Taisho Award in 2009. In 2014, it also won the Grand Award of the 18th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize.

Sugita has promoted the manga since forever on Anigera, both with or without Umino present herself (she's the most frequent female guest after Yukana). Shaft is really good at keeping things loyal, so I have no worries with them doing the adaptation. The original authors have said that Shinbo listened to everything they requested and even asked for creative input for even the smallest of background details.

The last time they did this kind of shit we got Mekaku City Actors. Like virtually exact same marketing campaign so far. Quote the number of volumes sold and award winning popularity and get the original author to make some quote praising SHAFT as the best and only possible choice to try to placate concerned fans when anyone with a brain knows the only reason SHAFT was chosen was because Aniplex and them are good. Cause it's literally the exact same kind of sound bite Aniplex always seems to get out of original creators whenever they give something to a studio besides A-1, especially SHAFT. They even managed to get Nasu to do running commentary on Fate/Stay Night to give it the "full cred" when the first episode aired just gushing about absolutely everything and saying ufoTABLE was the best, perfect and only choice despite him being fine with Deen adapting it already apparently.
