If your that tired of the series in the beginning just trudge through it. I read the whole thing in 3 days and it was worth it. When Punpun is in his early teen years it gets better and better. Although if you are still tired of its pacing then it is not for you then, because it can feel slow because of it being a Coming of Age story that spans a long time. It ain't as bad as 20th Century Boys pacing though. At least to me.
