I was surprised by how much I liked it. The visuals in particular. The color choice is really nice and I love the shade of blue they use and how it works with the whites. Reminds me of Mirror's Edge.

I`d wait making any judgements about its quality for now. First episode is great, but its not indicative of quality of the show further, and its story. Already first episode was seen balance between great animated scenes and poor generic ones. I fear futher it`ll detiorate strongly (see K), as well the story, being based on Otome game will focus more on boys than sport aspect.
Free was perfect since it actually was "family oriented" show - this one is however clearly Otome, and next episode will be more about the boys and drama akin to Aoharu.
It looks good, I found it funny, and I like this "stride" sport. Hopefully the next episode will look as good as this

Awesome visual and sound direction. It looked fantastic the whole show, and I know that 'pretty colors' is like a meme on this board now but the use of color was fantastic, or at least appealing to me.
The powerful, explosive sound direction in the running scene was fantastic. It did a great job of making movements feel significant and weighty. Arslan Senki had similar direction in its fight scenes.
It also had some nice visual symbolism. The type that's obvious because it's practically stated in the dialogue, but still is significant. Haikyuu does this ALOT.
Either way, this will be a great show if the episodes are all around the quality of the first one.

I don't think I'll keep watching it, but it wasn't horrible. Decent production and at certain times it looked really good. I think Ishizuka's a pretty solid director and I like when her style seeps through into the final product, there's just not a whole lot of that here.
