Why would you like Jojo before reading or watching it? I noticed it got an anime adaptation so I decided to watch it, because anime production adds a lot of content to manga (voice acting, music, colourful visuals).
I'm actually not really interested in reading the manga because Stardust Crusaders turned everything too retarded. I'll watch it if it's ever animated though.

The few people I've had watch JoJo ended up liking P1 the most, and by extension, like Jonathan the best.
I was actually expecting them to like P3 and Jotaro best.

To me he felt like a side character in what should have been his own part, and I think a big part of that was Araki knew that if chapters revolved around Jotaro beating other stands, it would boil down to Star Platinum ORAORAORAORAORAing the shit out of whatever stands in their way. Which was the case most of the time. It's a big part of the reason why the D'arby fight is one of my favorites, it lent well to Jotaro's personality and didn't involve any punchy crap while still showcasing Star Platinum's abilities. That being said I don't dislike Jotaro, I don't dislike any Jojo really.
