The better anime: Samurai Champloo or Cowboy Bebop? Why?
Champloo.
Bebop is boring.
Two versions of the same great show if you ask me.
Bebop.
Champloo is boring.
champloo = hipsters bebop
>>135693173
How so?
>>135693160
I agree
bebop = hipsters champloo
cowboy bebop had a better overarching plot and more interesting characters
samurai champloo had more stable episodes and better OST
Champloo, but only because of that godly soundtrack.
>>135693173
impossible, both were based around hipster culture.
The outfit Spike has on is even taken from "hip" jazz.
Bebop, but only because of that godly soundtrack.
>>135693149
blow it out your ass
Chill hip hop > Jazz
Therefore, Champloo is superior.
picking one is like picking a favorite child
if anyone has a webm of this i'd like to have it
There are 26 episodes of Samurai Champloo. Fans remember the series for maybe 4 or 5 of them. Not true with Bebop.
>>135693373
nice opinion bro
>>135693373
Well, most (if not all) of the beats on Champloo's OST sample Jazz songs.
>>135693373
If you can't appreciate a true patrician's music taste and pick kids music over it, then you are definitely too young to be browsing this website.

you can't be serious
No anime has ever had an OST as good as Champloo, before or since, so I have to give it the edge.
Post your personal favorite.

Bebop has the better ending.
Champlooo has the better ending.
>>135693490
Kids music? Are you fucking serious? How in the world is Hip-Hop "kids music"?
>>135693169
>>135693286
>>135693545
You can stop.
>>135693556
Oh boy here we go.
>>135693112
They're both good. But If I had to pick them Bebop.
>>135693594
It's my experience that most of the people with a hateboner for hip-hop and rap are teenagers themselves.
>>135693112 (OP)
They're both good. But If I had to pick them Champloo.
>>135693112
Champloo. I like ninja sword fights
Also musica

what the

This. And they're usually little suburban white kids who say shit like "Rap? Don't you mean CRAP xDDDd" while they spill Monster Energy on their Disturbed shirt.
>>135693112
I'd say Bebop in most instances but I prefer Champloo's bittersweet ending. It really felt like a satisfying end to an adventure.

Butthey never fought anon
>>135693496
Dude. You gave me a mild heartattack when I noticed the fuckups. Took me a few seconds to realize it wasn't my post.
>>135693496
I was going to say that's bullshit but I can't really remember that many Bebop episodes. The chess episode, the episode with that cowboy, episode where ed leaves, and the finale are the biggest ones in my mind. Other than that I can just remember scenes, but not really what episode they are from.
I would say Champloo anyway, but not for that reason
>>135693642
>ninja sword fights
>Samurai is literally in the fucking title of the show
>>135693634
>>135693675
I don't think fans of music that play back-to-back with the likes of Miley Cyrus have any right to call themselves mature.
Maybe back in the early 90's before it got commercialized, but certainly not today.
>>135693720
the only good thing about champloo's ending is that song.
>both characters take near fatal wounds then recover 100%
>mugen somehow surviving close range explosive detonation
Both should have died imo or at least just Jin. Also Mugen's opponents felt really shoehorned in as just something for him to fight.
>>135693807
They both survived a lot of stupid stuff that should have killed them in the show, by the time I reached the ending I didn't even think about it
>>135693793
We're talking about Nujabes here, not Drake.
>>135693793
Ugh. I have to explain this every time.
Yes, the "mainstream" shit is mostly garbage but it's like that for any genre of music.
There is plenty of new Hip-Hop out there that is fantastic, thought provoking, complex, and whatever-the-fuck else you think it's missing. You just gotta find it.
Anybody who's a musichead knows that 99% of the time, no matter what the station, when you turn on the radio you're gonna hear shit.
But at the same time it's art, whether we like it or not, and it's all subjective. Nobody hears shit the same.
>>135693863
But this the ending, where consequences should actually rise to bite the characters. That even seemed to be the point since both characters pasts literally come back to haunt them.
>>135693905
>ugh
>>135693877
+1 for getting it
>>135693807
>>both characters take near fatal wounds then recover 100%
Irked me a little, too. At least in Bebop there's the excuse of future medical care.
Mugen did actually die like three times in the series, though.
>>135693490
>jazz
>true patricians
Champloo because Nujabes
>>135693793
>comparing nujabes to mainstream rap
anon every genre seems superficial on the surface. As with any genre or medium, the majority of it is garbage so the good stuff gets overshadowed but it's there nonetheless
I prefer the plot and setting of Bebop but I like the characters and their interactions better in Champloo.

Dare you to listen to this and not bob your head. If you don't you have no soul.
>>135694001
This actually. The thing that annoys me though is that Jin gets very little screen time compared to Mugen.
>>135694001
That guys actually pretty damn good with a sword.
>>135693381
This.
Samurai Champloo inspired me to look up more of this Nujabes guy, only to find out he died in a car crash five years ago.
Shit.
>>135693241
I gotta say, this guy got it figured out in the simplest way possible. :P
>>135694126
Yes. So fucking sad. I damn near cried when he died.
Rest in beats Seba Jun.
>>135694126
What's that gif from? Looks very familiar.
>>135694126
wow it's been five years now?
>>135694239
6 years in February actually
