I don't really remember the reaction that well, after all, nothing important's going on in that image.
The most I recall of it was that someone asked why Ichigo stood back and let them do that(given that he wasn't under hypnosis), and I said that he let them chop up Momo because he knew that she was a liability, and that they'd be better off if she were dead.
I got a positive response for that comment, too.

I want to start reading the manga from where the anime left off, because i'm tired of waiting for the follow up which will never come, but when I opened the chapter at which the anime ends it was pretty confusing. Does the chapter after it starts with a new arc? Where should I start reading to get back something the anime missed?

At that point no hated her yet.The hate only began in the Arrancar arc, because she was delusional, though in her defence it was a realistic reaction, considering she was manipulated for years by Aizen.
I do wonder though what Hinamori's role would be, if Kubo stuck with his original plan, where Aizen was dead for real and Urahara the man behind Gin. Maybe Hinamori would be still stuck in Yandere mode. Each of the three major factions would have a yandere then: Hinamori for the Shinigami, Loly for the Arrancar and Giselle for the Sternritter.
