Then the opening was pretty surreal and I won't pretend I'm too refined to enjoy those edgelord lyrics, and I thought, well okay, this could have some original aesthetic direction.
Then it was just like, okay, carnival prison, not what I was expecting, but maybe it will be good, but then it became 'oh god, another highly structured contrived deathbattle premise with various boring, superpowers,' really Japan? Fucking really? And of course we've got our boy MC who nevar gives up and 'masaka, how is he moving he has been hit with the force of 10,000 nuclear bombs oh I see it is all to protect his moeblob's smile because they actually met in the PAST as Children how original' Then the pacing just started floundering with the escape plan and the priest and yadda yadda and even the naked albino eyecandy was another retarded moeblob with an superpowered evil side and I was like, damn, just damn.
I hear the manga is a little better in regards to the ending, but I can't be bothered to check it out.
