Most morons use hentai to ero-anime and doujninshi to refer to ero-manga. Anon was trying to distinguish between ero-manga and dj, but he did a bad job of it. Hentai is not even a term used in Japan so it's meaningless in this context.
Doujinshi are self-published works. End of story. They often are based off of other works, but this isn't always the case, and most dj popular in the West are ero, but this is also not a requirement. Touhou is popular because of its non-ero dj, for example.
Ero-manga are erotic manga. They run in magazines like normal manga, usually have longer stories and get released in tanks down the road. The majority of porn people consider dj are probably ero-manga, but for some reason the western fanbase seems to think that all ero-manga are dj.

Doujinshi means "self-published." A doujin manga is produced and distributed by "circles" which can be as small as one person or made up of a group of people. Some circles are based around a single artist, others have multiple artists. Their works are often parodies of existing franchises, but they also do original stories as well. Because of this, doujinshi have a strong connotation of being "fanfiction" of a sort, since there are countless circles dedicated to producing fan-manga for single franchises (i.e. many circles become known solely for producing, say, Touhou manga).
Explaining the terminology gets confusing because the terms are used differently in Japan and the west. In the west we use the term "hentai" as a noun or collective noun to refer to Japanese drawn/animated porn. Sometimes people use "ecchi" as a way to describe softcore porn. These are distinctions and terms that don't exist in Japan. Hentai is an adjective that means "perverted" in Japanese, it's not a category of art. In Japan they usually append "ero" in front of something to signify it is pornographic. E.G. "ero anime" or "ero manga".
By these terms, a great deal of doujinshi would be considered "ero manga" but not all ergo manga are self-published, some are professional works serialized in magazines. To the Japanese, the distinction between doujinshi and professional ero manga is trivial for the general public, it's only otaku and western obsessives who care. They are both "ero manga"
