Way too much weepy melodrama and nothing particularly special about the subject matter but in a piss weak year like this one it probably stood out just by being mediocre and of the sort of subject matter that Japan normally eats up anyway. Seriously it was like the worst year ever for anime that I can recall, like even worse than 2009-2010 so I can't really say much about a lot of the picks since people just seem to be choosing from what they can. I have no way to build or justify a top 10 list even for myself even if I were allowed to include movies and OVAs, it was that fucking bad.
