Nadeko's problem is that she's delusional and everyone is conspiring against her and has unreasonable demands of her. She even interprets people being nice to her as condescending and twisted. A fairly significant point about her arc is that most of her interactions with other characters aren't really reliable, because it's told from her delusional point of view. Some of those interactions never happened, or happened differently. They only tell of her own interpretations of events.
In reality, Nadeko is pampered. This becomes obvious when you look at her family life, and Kaiki even comments on it. It's probably true that people don't take her seriously, but that's really her own doing with how timid she is, and how she avoids conflict no matter what. Basically, she has a severe victim complex and prefers escapism as a form of self-defense. Since she avoids all interactions that could be negative, she just end up building a narrative in her own head. She goes so far to protect herself from emotional trauma that she eventually just snaps. She even happily keeps up the one-sided love act regarding Araragi, because it won't upset the status quo.
In conclusion, Snake is kind of a shit. A somewhat sympathetic shit, but still a turd who creates her own problems.

Really glad I finally decided to give the Monogatari series a go, I basically couldn't stop until I watched the entire series.
