It's an acquired taste. Almost 200 episodes of Hiraiface later, I'm not sure if I'd say I like it, but I've gotten used to it.
The biggest issue is how samey some characters can look. It was an issue at times with Exodus. I watched Heroic Age a couple weeks ago. That had a fairly limited cast, and everyone looked very different from each other. I liked the character design far more because of that.

Gay, if you didn't spot the obvious Soushi x Kazuki staff shipping all the way back in 2004 with Dead Aggressor.I liked it. Open enough for a sequel, closed enough to end it.
Wouldn't mind a Next Generation style story with Miwa as lead though.

I feel like watching Exodus cold could be quite cool. You know there's this massive backstory and a ton of history, then people like Kouyo and old goliaths like the Salvators and Zero just show up and you're suddenly blown completely away by the magnitude of it all.
