Does anyone even give a shit about NGE after 3.0? I barely see threads for it now but before 3.0 there was NGE constantly on /a/.

3.0 wasn't bad per-se. It's a follow on universe; the series/EOE universes ended in failure, and we're seeing the Rebuild universe. Kaworu almost straight up says it. Look the entire franchise similar to the re-occuring universes in Madoka.

We don't know why it failed; perhaps the HIP needed everyone to accept, or everyone to accept. Ideally the next one will explain it.
But more likely Anno will announce a NGE radio drama or stage play
