The story is really average. It alternates with generic evil villains that simply want to do evil and will, at some point, be 30 minutes away from activating an ancient evil magic that is somehow stopped.

Expect every little thing to be solved with the power of friendship. You have to be able to tolerate or forget such moments.
The manga and the 2014 anime aren't great with fight scenes, but the original anime does have a couple of good ones.
