To be fair, the digimon opening song sounds generic and could belong in literally ANY anime. But when you hear the American song you instantly know it's Digimon. So technically the American song does a better job. A lot of hipsters don't give the english openings enough credit. Japanese songs are great, but they're all interchangeable. You could play the Digimon Frontiers/Tamers/Adventure theme and they're all the same. Just the same Japanese shounen song you hear in every anime ever. Nothing distinct about them at all. But when you hear the english Digimon song, you know it's digimon, you know what the name stands for, you know that they digivolve and it has a catchy melody that they made soundtracks after. Same goes for some english openings like Pokemon. They're better in many ways. No need to be a damn weeaboo.
