If you look at earlier Mob chapters or OPM in general it isn't really up to standard, but he has constantly been improving. But he still has issues with line strength and the consistency of the quality of shading, anatomy and background detail varies.
I just wonder what kind of background he had before he started drawing since his writing and paneling skills seemed so good from the start.

as for >>135481147 i'm looking at volume 1 of mob psycho, none of the paneling is exactly unique, its all well chosen, but if you read enough shonen you would have seen all these setups coming miles away, the only difference is the addition of gag manga panels too, not much gag manga gets translated so my knowledge of this is a bit weak, but i have seen most of the gag panels in various places time and time again, if they predate mob is another thing entirely.

the issue is in america, we have amature aritsts who looked as super hero comics in their teens and early 20's or webcomics and want to mimic that.
whereas japan, pretty much sense the 70's has been pumping out comics for anyone young enough to read to old enough to die of natural causes, you don't have a friend introduce you to manga there, they are shoved in your face, its not hard to see someone in that environment growing up to have an understanding of how shit should flow or work. in america, you have a fuck load of known/name artists who have no fucking clue how to panel or get a story to flow, so what hope would an indie/amature artist have to really know how this shit should work... its not like we can say "read batman" as characters are not artist creations in america, they flow from author to author, so you have to tell them "read batman XXX from X to X and you will see good BLANK, if you want to see bad, look at batman YYY from Y to Y and see the same story told shittly" where as in japan "yea, check out dragon ball, you can see his early work and watch it grow"
