Proper term is introversion. But you're on the track.
There is a theory that introversion and autism are on the same scale. Extroversion is a different scale all together in that theory.
However mainstream understanding of introversion is the opposite of extroversion. When you describe an introverted person and a autism, there's many overlaps. Overall, autism is an extreme form and thus will display a much more pronounced effect.
Yakumo is just introverted. She's always processing the world in her own world. She doesn't small talk. When she talks, its always a serious/to a point type of statement. She only takes comfort in small groups of friends/close family(Neesan andthe animals). She's easily over stimulated. Introverts and extroverts can also be described as "overstimulated" and "understimulated". This is one reason why introverts avoid social situations because they are already stimulated enough. The opposite is true for extrovert, where they lack stimulation and always have the need to seek out attention.

School Rumble was my first anime asides of Dragon ball,Detective Conan an other shows i watched as a kid.

The Tenma parts of this show were all shit, worst character and girl.
I really wish the series focused on the relationship between these three. Those arcs were so well done. I still get teary eyed over Eri knitting the sweater as a gift for him and Yakumo fixing it and the confrontation between the two.

The romance in this was good because it started with an impossible love and progressed without a main girl bias. Harima actually liked Tenma more than anyone, it's not like Nisekoi where the protagonist "likes" someone but actually likes someone else more and doesn't want to admit it.

I thought the romance with Tenma and Harima was really nice at first but as the series went on and more serious relationships were developed (not just with Harima but with other characters as well) it got really annoying when it always came back to Harima and Tenma being completely oblivious. I think it's more tolerable in Nisekoi because you know what you're getting, just cute girls and awkward tension. School Rumble showed signs that it could be a lot more but it always came back to Harima and Tenma.

Harima grew up and realized that not all is above sexual love or romantic love. His insecurity/confusion as a child matured into platonic love.But there seriously needs to be a doujin where Harima has them as a side dish.
