"You should know by now that no good animes ever get finished" That's not true because the continuation of an anime is based on the sales, and all we know that the anime industry is ruled by otakus with shitty tastes, most of good anime aren't continued due otakus tastes.
P.S. Anyway there are exceptions, sometimes even good anime sell well.
For me Tokyo Ravens is a good anime so much, that I started reading the light novel too.

Anime hardly pulls profit, they're lucky to break even with the TV airing and BD sales combined. It's all in the merch and other related items.
It's like how the alcohol companies main profit isn't the responsible adult who drinks occasionally, it's the alcoholic fuck who downs two bottles of Jack a day. Just like how their profit isn't in the people who enjoy anime, it's all in the crazy otakus who will shell out thousands of dollars for their waifus. So obviously the industry will shift to accommodate these fucks; hence the prevalence of saccharine QT moeblobs. Anime as a story-telling device is pretty much dead, if you want that you'll need to read the source material that the anime acts as an advertisement for.
