I was lukewarm on the series but I love every single frame of Madoka Rebellion. Am I alone in this opinion?
I don't even remember anything that happened in Rebellion and I only watched it two years ago. I thought the series was pretty great, it was dark, the characters were nice, but the ending was kinda shit and the movie was just completely forgettable.

I watched the series after the movie came out, so I didn't really have time to sit on the show and grow to love it, right after the last episode I booted the up the movie... and found it okay, I guess. Something about finding Madoka? I don't know, but the friend I watched it with loved the movie, and I have co-workers that loved the series and movie as well.

Not that I dislike the series, I just felt that the ending was a little cliche and underwhelming.

There didn't even need to be a movie. TV series ended fine. Instead they dragged it out with a retarded premise where they made Homura even more of a crazy dyke and basically had her undo everything she sought to accomplish throughout the entire tv series. It just makes the goal of the entire tv series seem pointless now. Also the movie was filled with absolutely shameless pandering to shipperfags. It's like the whole movie was made after browsing pixiv for a while.

I don't know, the Sayaka x Kyoko stuff definitely felt that way but the Homu-lust made sense to her character, and Madoka never expressed more than friendship back to her.

Rebellion is visually and aurally a great film. Story is pretty good for anime. The twist at the end was well executed and was just as "happy" an ending as that of the original series. It will probably be remebered as the highest point of the franchise, but will ultimately just serve as vehicle to reunite Madoka and Homura. I'm not expecting too much from Movie 4/Season 2 other than that conclusion.
