-The reality is bitch continues to embaress and shit on MC, superior girls come to MC and fall in love with sexy new self, MC turns them down for MEH REVENGE. Of course MC does zero revenge, instead he whiteknights bitch girl at every turn, and clearly is 100% in love with awful bitch, and will end up with her in the end. I mean I'd continue to read it if it were translated, but it was by no means a good series.

I'd imagine the fear of being canceled has something to do with it. If you can't leave the reader wanting to read next month's chapter, they might forget about it. Then that story you had in your head for however many years gets axed, and you have to face the fact that nobody cares about all those ideas you had or all that work you put into it, and you have to give it a half-assed ending. I'd imagine injecting drama everywhere to keep people interested is a lot easier to swallow.
