I'm not that dude, but I know what moe means, and Ed is obviously not a moe character. The actual word moe refers to an emotion experienced by the viewer, and a moe character is one who was intentionally designed to elicit that emotion. Therefore Ed is not a moe character. You may experience moe when you experience Ed, but that in itself does not make Ed a moe character in any sense. Saying that a character is a "moe character" is about the intent of the creator.
