They should have never bothered trying to salvage the plot or tie up the loose ends. Valvrave became more and more entertaining with the insanity but that quickly lost its charm in the second half. Feel free to debate me but the plot progression and twists became much more serious (for the most part) and focused to culminate in a boring lead up and finale, whereas the first season was balls to the wall. Especially the last episode of the first season.
At least Cross Ange was ridiculous all throughout. Nana wills it.

This experimental show is a definition of a guilty pleasure, it doesn't take itself seriously, and it's well-aware of its selling point -- a mahou shoujo genre with sci-fi theme, cheesy cliche and mindless fanservice. The revelation of parallel universes was pretty intriguing, but the plot could have been better if it wasn't for the Hitler-esque antagonist who was egoistic enough to think they're the so-called master race and went berserk for power. And until this day, I still have no idea why did Rei come back again despite her world has been restored by that omnipotent being.
That being said, I still have Energy in my playlist, and Himawari is perfect in every way.
