It's usually the other way around in harem, but not for Naoto who is crazy about all things gears and mecha, so his interests in AnchoR makes him look like a passionate enthusiast but at the same time a lolicon. I think that's what the two authors were aiming for. There's a contrast between the two of them who are geniuses. Marie sounds and talk like an educated person befitting of her high position. Naoto is your laid-back maniac for Gears who doesn't sound educated, but a genius no less.
One of the reasons she's my favorite is cause I'm a sucker for characters who struggled from the bottom and climbed their way to the top, effectively shutting the hell up of those who looked down on them. Now she can look down on those under her with confidence that she earned and forged through hark work. But Marie's situation is complicated, there's always a opportunity for her to mess up that will end her status and authority, which many would love to see her fall for their own ambition.

Yen Press hasn't had to be sending DMCA C&Ds for a while, since Baka-Tsuki pre-emptively removes the series when the license is announced. Meanwhile the guy who translated more recent volumes of SAO hadn't gotten DMCAed, and neither did the guys who translated Spice and Wolf. Though the Danmachi blog did get nuked.
The recent spate of C&Ds on B-T originated not from Yen Press but from Shueisha and Kadokawa.
If you think the English LN translation scene is having it bad at the moment, you should see the Chinese scene. The whole Chinese LN translation scene is in chaos because their site operators were outright arrested. They had a server based in Japan of all places.
