I don't think 2015 was that bad, it wasn't great but it had some good shit that pandered to me like monster musume and etotama. Financially not viable. Studios must make adaptions for production committees to get enough money, so that they can then try to make original anime shows.
The best thing would be to make adaptions with anime original material. This has the advantage of promoting the source material as intended, will have a large enough core viewerbase from the source material to perhaps ensure that the anime can be financially viable on its own, and enough fresh ideas to make anime viewers and source material interested in the anime itself.
Best source materials would be properties that allow a large deal of creative freedom to the directors, providing only characters and perhaps a setting that the show is based upon.
Then, there won't be any complaints from source material fans about the anime deviating.
FMP S4, Kizu and DRRR X2 S3 are gonna be the highlights of next year for me. Although I think there's only like 9 other poeople on /a/ excited for that last one.
